MEYLER GIFTED AND TALENTED (GATE)

MEYLER GIFTED AND TALENTED (GATE)

The gifted and talented program at Meyler creates high level learning opportunities, which allow students to flourish in stimulating academic and social environments. Our instructional programs for gifted and talented students are based on the principles that all students are to receive an education appropriate to their individual capabilities, interests, needs, and that students have learning opportunities that help develop their abilities to the highest level. Differentiated instruction is a regular part of the curriculum for our GATE students.

Our GATE students receive weekly-differentiated instruction, in a specialized setting, including Mini-Medical School, offered by Harbor UCLA Pediatrics, every other week. Pediatric doctors, guided by Dr. Julie Noble have designed a balanced curriculum on medicine, the human body, medical research, equipment and technology.  The curriculum covers various parts of the human anatomy, its functions, disease, and their relation to medicine, as practiced at UCLA hospital.
